As all of you, am also the lover of the science stream. During school time, I also go through the confusions like .... what project should I submit so that I get maximum marks and knowledge about the project/models.

1)Light passing through  a hole in a straight line(thermocol model):
This is the best model to make on the LIGHT topic.
In this a candle is placed in one of end and having an observer eye on another end, Model Consist of partitions of thermocols, having holes in between them and these thermocols are in a straight line (Collinear). After the flaming candle, the observer sees from another end that light passes in the straight path.

2) Periscope : 
The device used to see the objects which are not parallel to the horizontal ray of an eye, one of the best example of periscope application is to see the outer objects above the sea level through  the  submarine submerged under the water,
with the help of cuboidal box and 2 mirrors placed at 45 degrees make this possible to see object
and this also works on the principle of reflection of light.
Periscope sometimes used in tanks, army vehicles, in naval ships, to safeguard themself from any type of warning or enemy attacks.



3)Kaleidoscope :
kaleidoscope is an optical instrument that works on the principle of Reflection. Observer eye on one ends and the colorful view or image on another side, as light enters inside the kaleidoscope, series of mirrors inside the kaleidoscope form symmetrical images of design ( colorful images).  Kaleidoscope also have further types :
1. Microscopic kaleidoscope
2. Polycentral kaleidoscope etc.

4) Newton cradle : 
Another beautiful model or project with the use of marble or metallic balls of the same size and mass. This newton cradle based on the principle of the law of conservation of momentum.After viewing this model with its working one can know what may be the impact of collision of the ball, After colliding small ball with a large ball and what is nature of overall impact ......... By comparing with the real-world we can also know about billiard ball movement after colliding and …….why they stop immediately during the strike or move in the same direction of the colliding ball.

5) Dynamo model :
A device which can be used to convert mechanical energy into DC electric energy A dynamo is an electrical the generator that creates direct current. Dynamos, usually driven by steam engines, but can be driven by some other mechanical means also, Dynamos were widely used in power stations to generate electricity for domestic purposes and industrial  but to show as school the project model is an excellent project which increases the interest and desire of learning physics in the field of magnetism and electricity.
The electric dynamo having coils which rotates and magnetic fields generated are used to convert mechanical rotation into a  direct electric current .which further can be used for different purposes.

Dynamo Works on the principle of  Faraday's law of induction and Lenz's law.

6)Lever mechanism (force and moment ): 
This model or the project shows the with the help of force and distance we can lift a higher weight with low force and  the concept of the moment came into play

7) Magnetic field lines model  : 
Simplest and low cost model in which we need to show the electric  field lines on paper placed on cardboard with the help of magnetic bar and sprinkled magnetic pieces, which require a definite pattern around the magnet.


8) Solar system model : 
In this model, we can represent our solar system  on a very small working model to know the actual relative size and color of our different planets with respect to each other. With the help of balls and stick or thin bars having support at the center can be used as an accessory for the project. 















9.)Atomic model : 
 The imaginary part of science in which all the fundamental particles are shown as a model, for this student, can use colored marbles to represent the electrons and big marble or ball as combination neutrons and protons(Nucleus) at the center. With the help of supporting a circular case, we can build this model. We can show an atomic model of different atoms.

10) Human HEART ( THERMOCOL MODEL ) ;
The heart pumps blood with a rhythm determined by a group of pacemaking cells. With the help of themmocol and colorful painting colors and markers,, we can make the best biological model like the heart, eyes, brains, etc. but there is a limitation of this project that is we can't show it's working, that how the blood will flow inside it.

11 ) Model-based on the sound topic:
with the help of this model, we can show the longitudinal and transverse waves which are produced from a metal bar or horn. As we can't see the waves but we can make a model understand better by use of a horn or metal bat.

Selection of project

Hello, guys, this is Rajan,

If I suggest,

students should make the Physics projects rather than biological and chemistry projects .....(for classes 1 to 8)  the reason is.. with the physics projects you will able show its working to teacher or students during the practical day.

But in the case of biological and chemical projects its become difficult to show the actual working of the project.
 For example, if a student makes the model of heart or eye it becomes difficult to explain on the thermocol project how the blood will flow inside the heart chamber or in case of the eye also.

But if someone has a very deep interest in biology then he or she might go with a biological project or chemistry project as the student should focus in its interest as 1st priority.


Cost of project

While deciding the project we must keep in mind the cost of the project also, here I will show you the projects under RS 300 / RS 200 and RS 100. 

Things to be remember while deciding the project 
1.   cost. 
2.   Availability of material.
3.   Not too much time-consuming.
4.   Not having harmful chemicals or equipment like acid etc.
5.   attractive.
6.   Not bulky. 
7.   Not too soft not too hard.
